Why a vegetable & biodegradable litter ?

No plan(et) B

The impact of favouring a vegetable-based versus a mineral-based litter should not be understated. As one cat requires approximately 180 kilos of litter a year, using our carbon neutral litter is obviously way better for the environment !

No more compromises

To opt for a plant-based bedding is to choose for comfort.
With our litter no more unpleaseant odors or fastidious maintenance.
Indeed the vegetable fibers from our straw-made pellets have an extraordinary absorbing power.

Do as you please

With our litter, there will be no more toxic and harmful dust for you and your pet. Mineral dust causes allergic disorders, leading to respiratory tract irritation and lung inflammation. You can then pour the litter free, as your pet may groom itself, all while beeing safe and environmentaly conscious.

Cats or rodents, it will become their favorite litter !

Characteristics of Natura Pellets
Our team has already acquired a very good experience in the field of wood pellets through renewable energies. It could have been more logical to address our choice to this kind of pellets. However, after a long market research and having performed extensive tests we have abandoned our initial idea and we have opted for a straw pellet which is more suitable to be used as animal litter for cats, but also for rabbits and small rodents. This choice done the next step was to give the utmost importance to the best quality of wheat to be used. Our pellets are composed of 100% pure wheat straw, of superior quality and always stored under the shelter. The straw needs to be protected from rain and at the same time sufficiently ventilated. These storage condition is essential to avoid causing deterioration of the product so as to obtain the very best absorption rate. Subsequently, a special transformation process has to be carefully followed to avoid the growth of germs or mould. Finally, when the product goes through the stage of hot pressing the precise choice of the pellet density as well as of the right length and diameter of granules is crucial to obtain the most effective absorbency rate in view of the intended end use as litter for your house pet.
How will your cat or rodent react to a vegetal litter ?
As we said, it is important to make your animal accept a certain type of litter. In particular, a cat has a sense of smell 15 times more developed than us and is very uncompromising with hygiene. This intransigence is partly coming from a natural instinct of a prey confronting its predator. When it digs and covers carefully it’s droppings it’s partly to try to cover any track such as to avoid potential danger. Your cat is also quite sensitive to germs and bacteria.
How to use your litter and when to change it ?
Pour a layer of 4-5 cm in the litter box. Remove gradually the dirty parts easily identifiable using a small shovel. Then replace the emptied parts with clean pellets. Wash the litter box if dirty. This operation can be repeated every 10 days only if you have thought of removing regularly the dirty parts as previously advised.
How to dispose of the litter ?
As already indicated the straw pellets can be emptied into the compost heap. But be careful not to dispose in the compost heap the big droppings to avoid any deterioration of the general state of your compost and the possible risk of generating diseases such as toxoplasmosis. You can also throw small quantities of litter in the toilets as an easy solution if you live in town. Let them soak a few minutes before flushing the toilet. The vegetal litter, and particularly the straw pellets litter, has yet another advantage : your litter will be less heavy in your dustbin compared to an equivalent volume of a mineral litter.
